A Chilling Tale of Resilience: The Lotus and the Sacred Glass

Sacred Lotus Glass: A Story of Resilience and Hope

As a glass artist, I love the opportunity to connect with customers and share the stories behind my work. One such encounter happened at a recent art show, where a customer asked me about the inspiration for my business name, Sacred Lotus Glass.

Before I became a mother, I was deeply immersed in a spiritual journey. Meditation and prayer were (and still are) two of my most cherished practices. During this time, I developed a profound appreciation for the lotus flower, a symbol of enlightenment and resilience.

The lotus’s life cycle is a beautiful metaphor for overcoming adversity and finding hope. Its roots begin in the mud, a seemingly inhospitable environment. Yet, the lotus perseveres, pushing its way through the murky water and reaching for the sunlight. When it finally breaks the surface, it blooms into a stunning flower, a testament to its strength and determination.

Even as it reaches for the sun, the lotus remains grounded, its roots firmly planted in the mud. At night, it closes and sinks back beneath the surface, only to rise again the following morning, unstained by the darkness.

Sharing this story with the customer, I was touched by his response. He said that my words had given him “cold chills.” It was a reminder of the power of connection and the ability of art to inspire and uplift.

That is only the name of my business.
