My name is Melissa Stone.

I started working with glass in 2010. I decided it was not for me. Then in 2018, I wanted to do something where I could stay home and raise my daughter. Multiple kilns and torches later, I am a glass artist.

I work with multiple types of glass and use many different technique. Creating memorial glass or memory glass has been the most rewarding. It is a huge honor every time I am asked to create a piece.

Glass and Community: A Waterville Connection

Crafting glass art is a deeply personal experience, but seeing it connect with others? That’s where the real magic happens. It was incredibly touching to find my work displayed at the Waterville Public Library & Barton-Brown Observatory during a recent visit. It felt like a true connection with the community.”

The Colonel, The Physicist, and the Glass from 1861.

I hadn’t dated in nearly a decade. For ten years, my heart had been a quiet house with the lights turned low. I wasn’t looking for a spark; I was looking for a “forever”—the kind of man who would never leave. Then came the Colonel. We talked on the phone for hours before we ever…

    A memory, etched in glass.

I recently had the honor of creating a wedding gift for a man’s relative who wanted to give a truly special present. This was a family that knew the power of a personalized gift; I had previously etched a bottle for the couple to celebrate their engagement. The relative’s thoughtfulness was evident, wanting to give…
