When I first started my artistic journey, the name “Sacred Lotus Glass” felt perfect. It beautifully captured the essence of my passion: the intricate beauty of the lotus, a symbol of purity and rebirth, combined with the mesmerizing medium of glass – specifically, fused glass and lampwork.

There’s something truly magical about working with glass. Watching raw materials transform under intense heat, bending and shaping it into delicate forms, or seeing vibrant colors melt and fuse into intricate patterns – it’s a constant dance between control and surrender. Fused glass allowed me to create stunning flat pieces, often incorporating dichroic glass for an otherworldly shimmer, while lampwork opened up a world of three-dimensional possibilities, crafting individual beads and small sculptures at the torch.

But then, a wise friend offered a piece of advice that resonated deeply: “Don’t box yourself in. What if someday you want to create art beyond glass?”

It’s a question that many artists face, and it’s a valid one. The truth is, art is a journey of constant evolution. What starts as a passion for one medium can often blossom into an exploration of many.
