They take a bit of a tumble when they enter the world! Since momma giraffes give birth standing up, their calves fall about 6 feet (1.8 meters) to the ground. The Glass Artist Journey
My name is Melissa Stone, and my relationship with glass is… complicated. We first met in 2010, and at the time, I didn’t think we were a match. But some passions have a way of circling back.
In 2018, while looking for a way to stay home and raise my daughter, I picked up the torch again. This time, everything clicked. What started as a small project quickly grew into a full-scale studio—multiple kilns, various torches, and a deep dive into the endless possibilities of the medium. While life eventually pulled me back into the traditional workforce, my studio remains my sanctuary. I continue to explore diverse glass types and techniques, creating unique pieces that balance technical precision with the joy of the craft.
